Our commitments
At the Van der Valk Luxembourg hotel, sustainable development is at the heart of our priorities. That's why we implement various actions every year to adapt to your needs and those of our planet.
Our actions for responsible management:
Since 2020, 1000 shrubs have been planted around our hotel to facilitate the absorption of CO2; Carbon storage by plants is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change.
We are developing a vegetable and herb garden to take another step towards energy and food self-sufficiency!
The room key cards are now made of wood, more ecological and durable! To replace our old plastic cards.
The water bottles placed in the room are made of recycled and recyclable cardboard.
Our cleaning products and soaps are ecological and environmentally friendly. They are certified 100% ECO and 100% organic. These products do not contain any toxic, harmful, corrosive, or allergenic substances, thus helping to preserve the environment and the health of everyone.
Hygiene products in the room are offered in large size and refill options, which helps to avoid waste of bottles and products, and thus reduce the impact of our activities on the environment.
The carpets in the various areas of the hotel (lobby, common areas, restaurant...) are made of natural and recycled materials such as corn. Carpets made of natural materials meet ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards, they are generally softer and attract far fewer dust mites and bacteria.
Electric bicycles are available for customers to use during their rides. We also offer a Tesla Supercharger parking open to all electric vehicles as well as our own Allego charging stations.
Furthermore, we raise awareness among our staff about good ecological practices and we take waste sorting of food and non-food waste to heart, while committing to reducing this waste to limit its impact on air, water, and soil.
Nature is our most precious asset, which is why we will continue to improve ourselves and seek innovative and responsible solutions to meet the needs of future generations and protect them.
